Landmarked structures present notable problems for lighting design. We will visit the Central Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library (Grand Army Plaza) for a designer-led discussion of Arup Lighting's award-winning exterior lighting treatment.

December

Dancing in the Light

Celebrate fifty years of dance with the Alvin Ailey Dance Company. It's the annual DLFNY theater benefit. Enjoy a program of classic revivals and original lighting - and a post-performance discussion with the lighting director.

January

Bank of America

Open the New Year with a tour of the Bank America office spaces at Bryant Park, led by lighting designer Michael Castelli of HDLC Lighting Design. This is the first LEED Platinum office tower and features highly efficient lighting, with daylight dimming.

Perceptions of Color

Is color the most powerful attribute of light . . . or just one of the most challenging? Whatever your perspective, color is increasingly important in today's lighting design. Join our lively discussion of perception, color, current design issues and practices.

March

LEDucation III

It's time for more of our most successful technology showcase. More innovative LED products. More information, exhibitors and space. More time to visit, examine and question. And the results of the Next Generation of Luminaires LED product competition.
